Missing First Draft on Apigenin

Apigenin, a name to remember and a supplement to utilize in disease prevention. New research findings as brought to us by the generous people at Life Extension Foundation have new information on research findings that show the active compound in celery, apples and certain other foods have the demonstrated ability to interfere with breast cancer stem cell proliferation. It's exciting news and I hope you will consider a bit of investigation into the benefits of this supplement that can be purchased for very little cost but which can help your body to combat disease and that in itself would be priceless.

Camomile flower extract also contains apigenin and can also be purchased at your health food store and or online.

Apigenin is useful to treat other ailments including stomach upsets and has been proven useful as an anti bacterial agent and much, much more. It is anti inflammatory and may play a useful role against cancer.

I am not making any endorsement for products seen on these links but, I know that Life Extension is a wonderful organization and presents leading edge products and clinical findings regularly on and through their websites. I share with you the idea that if the science is in on the efficacy of a product and or supplement, it would be wise to consider how it might fit into an overall protocol for health.

Celery Power & the Power of Apigenin

Anyone interested in a powerful antibacterial and perhaps anti cancer supplement? The flavinoid found in celery, known as apigenin, may be the one to go with.

Capsules can be purchased at health food stores and or online and as it has been reported on the good people over at Life Extension Foundation, celery is good but celery seed extract which contains apigenin can be taken daily with meals and provide additional health benefits.

Apigenin has been found to disrupt the proliferation of breast cancer and delay the progression of disease according to the findings (link) above.

There is much more that the findings revealed, so please see the link above and don't feel put off if you don't understand every word in the article.

The bottom line may very well indicate it might be wise to supplement with celery seed extract (German chamomile flower extract also contains this flavinoid).

Join with me as a Friend Follower

I mentioned earlier today that I would not be posting as often as usual and part of the reason is that I have some visitors but no one seems to want to join me by becoming a follower.  I have friends and neighbors that I refer to this site for issues that may have to do with them directly and so that they can have the benefit of leading edge information.  I want the same for me but I don't want to be spending a lot of time online writing and sharing and there's no one reading or following.

I might be persuaded to more frequently post information if you dear visitor would take a moment and start a following for me.  It would certainly be a motivator for me and an indicator of how many people are interested in important info that you can use to arm yourself against disease and learn about what's available to us now in support of health and nutrition.

Please become a friendly follower by adding your name at this site so I know I'm not just talking to myself.  :(

The hectic pace of springtime has kept me away from Elixir and I hope visitors who have developed an interest in this kind of vital information presented here, please accept my apology.

I have decided to focus on a leading edge nutritionals book that cover the information I have researched but, I will be posting blogs from time to time in the meantime.  I just may not be writing on a weekly basis at I had expected to do.  Instead I am organizing material for a formal publication that should be of interest to those who want to be in the know but who just do not have the time or inclination to do the necessary resourcing and research of information.

A neighbor told me yesterday that she had seen a famous doctor (and friend of Oprah Winfrey) on television discussing the benefits of purple foods.  Yes, purple foods and all deeply pigmented vegetables, sweet potatoes, carrots, cranberries, all dark berries (the darker the better) etc. have substances that prevent disease and so unless one has allergies, having them in the diet is important and necessary. The reason why dark fruits and vegetables prevent disease and the clinical results that back up claims made by others are too numerous to go into now as time does not allow for it but, for those who don't have the luxury of eating large quantities of fruit for whatever the reason, remember that you can do the next best thing and that is, supplementation.

Leading edge purple vegetables, namely, purple corn for example can be purchased off the web and is densely packed with antioxidant compounds.  I say 'leading edge' because clinical trials may be underway and findings may have come in on some of those trials so that health food stores and vitamin outlets have not had the opportunity to offer such supplements to their customers, the products are just too new and simply not in the stores yet.  However, these kinds of products are available for sale off the web so keep that in mind.

It's always wise to do some amount of Googling when it comes down to it.  You need not spend hours and hours doing so as a researcher might but, for to expand your understanding of the value of these products.  I would advise you to do so.

Purple corn, (so called "forbidden") black rice, blue purple potatoes and other deeply pigmented fruits and vegetables including purple cauliflower (I just found out there was such a thing!) and difficult to find in stores.  Why?  I don't have the answer except to say, dark and black and good for you has been a forbidden combination for all the obvious reasons and for any number of reasons and that goes back a long way in history /  When, what could be further from the truth?

Denatured white products with any trace of "darnkess" removed, white bread, white sugar and other staples of the American diet have been promoted and produced some pretty bad results in terms of diabetes and other health conditions, obesity associated with the consumption of products that have little if no nutritional value.  They are not dark or deeply pigmented that much we can be sure of.

Time, mortality concerns, research and good, common sense appears to be changing the scenario and by necessity.  It is time we started consuming antioxidant rich fruits and vegetables in order to restore health!

New Clinical Findings on Resveratrol

Very exciting news and this directly from the good people at NutraIngredients.  The compound known as Resveratrol has proven useful in diabetes prevention!  Please be sure to read this associated link and consider supplementing with this miracle supplement!  Ten milligrams is low dose and apparently strong enough to show results in offsetting diabetes based on Hungarian studies.

Follow Up on Oral Cancer Info

On a follow up, I just did a bit of research on an important earlier topic:  oral sex oral cancer rates increasing.  The US News Health in their 2008 Health Section discusses the issue.

A more recent, February 22, 2011 New York Daily News article on this important topic is listed in their Entertainment Section, not sure why they chose that section but there you have it.

Please click the underscored links above here for further information.

Post Partum Depression and Fish Oil to the Rescue

Just encountered this vital information which is not an endorsement of any products you will see at this link that has to do with post partum depression.

This knowledge should be top priority for pregnant mothers and for women who have already delivered.  It is vital information.  Please click "post partum depression above" and read up on additional findings regarding fish oil and the relationship it has to well being.
