The good people at World Health.net by way of NutraIngredients have fresh off the press released new findings regarding the health benefits of Canadian maple syrup.
The compound produced from maple tree contains anti-cancer constituents ("23 naturally derived phenolics") that are anti cancer cell proliferation. Further studies are necessary and there is a question as to whether or not these properties are native to the sap of the tree or during processing but this is very exciting news and a reminder that trees, including the Yew tree that produces the constituents that go into chemo therapy drug, Tamoxifen, Taxol, comes from the Yew tree.
Other tree bark substances and constituents have proven strong against life threatening diseases such as cancer.
