Canadian Maple Syrup News

The good people at World Health.net by way of NutraIngredients have fresh off the press released new findings regarding the health benefits of Canadian maple syrup.

The compound produced from maple tree contains anti-cancer constituents ("23 naturally derived phenolics") that are anti cancer cell proliferation.  Further studies are necessary and there is a question as to whether or not these properties are native to the sap of the tree or during processing but this is very exciting news and a reminder that trees, including the Yew tree that produces the constituents that go into chemo therapy drug, Tamoxifen, Taxol, comes from the Yew tree

Other tree bark substances and constituents have proven strong against life threatening diseases such as cancer.

The Miraculous Fish Oil & Postpartum Depression Avoidance

Although no specific cause is often cited, the connection between postpartum depression  (that very unwelcome psychological downturn women often experience after childbirth) and  supplementing with fish oil is an interesting one that is not  discussed often enough with women of childbearing age.

Doctors are now more aware of the connection because loss of omega fatty acids from the mother during pregnancy and research findings that reveal this connection.  I think it deserves some thoughtful analysis here to see the relationship and necessity to replace with supplements as well as diet of course, what nature has removed during nine months of building a new life.

The growing fetus takes all the nutrition it needs from the expectant mother, we know that much but, what we don't consider too often and it should be more in the public purview is that as the mother loses elemental brain constituents that will later have a very nasty recoil of depression.

The postpartum depression syndrome has a nasty recoil and can go from mild crying and discontent to refusal to nurture the newborn and other destructive manifestations that can be avoided.  The information concerning supplementing with fish oil and or Omega 3 fatty acids (for example flax seed ) while pregnant and after pregnancy as well has proven to offset postpartum depression and to make for healthier, more intelligent children.

It just makes sense that supplementing with fish oil and perhaps of course under your doctor's supervision (fish oil is a blood thinner) should be in the knowledge base of women who will enjoy the benefits of replenishing what their body (their brains actually) have sacrificed by necessity to the fetus as he or she grows.  Your children will be more intelligent and enjoy a decrease in the possibility of certain neurological disorders as well.

We come from the ocean of our mother's womb and there too the beautiful relationship to an  aquatic life before our life outside the pool of our inception shows us how strong our primal connection to the sea is and to the need for our bodies, specficially our brains to have the proper amount of specifically fish oil and Omega 3 fatty acids for wellness.

Fish oil has been found useful to offset certain other psychological disorders such as Alzheimer's disease and non pregnancy related mild depression disorders, the information is available to us although, we don't always have the time and energy to do the research.  The information is vital and more analysis will be forthcoming on this blog and to your health and longevity.
